Dhaka Dominators, the bottomers on the points table will take on Comilla Victorians, who have won all of their last three matches at Shere Bangla National Stadium on Monday.
Dhaka, are at the bottom the table with two points as they have lost four of their five matches played this season, and won only one.
Comilla on the other hand, are on the third position on the table with six points from three wins. Comilla started their season in a loom as they lost straight three games in a row and were at the bottom at some point, but they turned things around as the tournament shifted to Chattogram where they secured three consecutive wins to their name to move up to the third position just behind Sylhet Strikers and Fortune Barishal.
Last time the two sides locked horns with each other saw Comilla triumph over Dhaka by 33 runs. In the match, Dhaka skipper Nasir Hossain won the toss and sent Comilla to bat first where they set a target of 185 for the Dominators to chase depending on Khushdil Shah’s blasting 64 off just 24 balls.
Coming to chase, Dhaka’s innings ended on 151-4 after 20 overs. Skipper Nasir was not out on 66.
Ahead of their match on Monday, Comilla’s opener Mohammad Rizwan said on a press conference, “I got confident in this league, especially my team gives me much respect. Whenever you perform well in the field, you feel very happy and things become easy, everywhere in the world.”
When asked about his anchoring role in the team, he said, “It’s very difficult role, but you have to face the pressure. Anchoring is not easy, the whole team, the coaches depend on you to build up your innings.
“I asses the condition and the opponents to perform well. In the era of T20s, everyone expects 60-70 runs from 35-40 balls, if you fail, it’s embarrassing. You look at the scoreboard and asses what is required of you, there are times when the opposition is dominating when you try to take it slow to break their momentum and when you have the momentum, you can go for big shots.”
The Pakistani batter said he had a good understanding with Liton Das. “Liton is a world class batter. Me and Liton, we try to communicate while on the pitch, we talk about how do we improve,” he added.
