Taskin thrilled with Hathurusinghe return

Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed, who was a regular feature during the first reign of Chandika Hathurusinghe as the head coach of the Bangladesh national team, said that he was thrilled with the return of the Sri Lankan in his former post.

Taskin debuted for Bangladesh in 2014 before Hathurusinghe was appointed but continued to be a prominent part of the bowling attack until 2017. Taskin played in the last series where Hathurusinghe was the head coach, the South Africa tour in 2017.

After that, Taskin only played two international matches before making his comeback in 2021.

“I am thrilled that Hathurusinghe is returning as coach. He is a quality coach and a good person. I am sure it will be good with him. Those of us who were young then (in Hathurusinghe’s first tenure), are a bit more mature. The team is also in a better position,” he told the media on Wednesday. The pacer said that the Sri Lankan has already started communicating with the players.
