Fortis FC found a brilliant comeback in the second half of their Bangladesh Premier League football match against Mohammedan SC to win 4-3 on Saturday.
It seemed like it would be an easy win for Mohammedan when the first half ended 2-0 for the black and whites, with Mohammad Minhajur Abedin Rakib scoring in the 21st minute and Souleymane Diabate scoring in stoppage time.
But Fortis came all guns blazing in the second half as substitute Borhan Uddin scored in the 56th minute to half the deficit before Mojibor Rahman Jony drew them level eight minutes later.
The comeback was complete in the 70th minute when Fortis’ Afghan recruit Amiruddin Sharifi scored.
However, there was more drama to the match as substitute Arif Hossain brought Mohammedan level in the 77th minute.
But Fortis were not going to let their second-half heroics go to waste as defender Danilo Augusto restored their lead just two minutes later and sealed all three points.
This win allowed Fortis to leapfrog Mohammedan in the table to reach sixth place with 11 points in nine matches, while Mohammedan dropped to seventh with nine points in nine games.
In the other matches of the day, Chattogran Abahani beat Muktijoddha Sangsad 2-0, while Sheikh Russel KC and Rahmatganj MFS drew 1-1.
