A Bangladesh Cricket Board official expressed belief in implementing an online ticketing system from Bangladesh National Cricket Team’s series against Ireland in March after yet again continuing with their manual ticket-selling process in the England series starting from March 1.
BCB announced on Sunday that tickets for the first match would be available on February 28 and on every previous day of a matchday at a booth at the Shaheed Suhrawardi Indoor Stadium in Mirpur. Ticket prices range from Tk 200 to Tk 1,500.
However, eager fans will have to wait in line for hours to get their hands on the tickets for this high-voltage series as previously seen in recent series.
While several boards across the globe implement an online method in ticket sales, BCB is yet to do such and keeps persisting with its old-fashioned method.
Although BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury on Monday said they were hopeful about selling at least a percentage of their tickets online.
“We could not do it (online ticketing for England series) due to some reasons. We know it makes it difficult for people. An online ticketing system would comfort people a bit. We will try that it is there from the Ireland series,” he said in a press
conference.
The BCB CEO added, “I am confident. We will at least be prepared to sell a certain percentage of the tickets online.”
