Bangladesh National Football Team skipper Jamal Bhuyan will not be moving to Argentine club Sol de Mayo as his current club Sheikh Russel KC refused to let him go.
Jamal had agreed terms with the Argentine club, which competes in the third division of Argentina’s footballing circuit, and was set to move to play in the 2023 season.
However, that is not happening as Jamal’s club in Bangladesh refused to provide him with a release letter, which is required for the Bangladesh captain to switch teams.
“No, I didn’t get it (release letter) unfortunately,” Jamal told The Business Post when asked about his move to Argentina.
According to Sheikh Russel, they will not let him go as he is contracted with them until the season’s end, which will be in July.
Sol de Mayo wanted Jamal for their upcoming match on March 8 but the move not happening means that the Bangladesh captain has now travelled to Saudi Arabia to play for the national team.
Following his move being rejected, Jamal had written on Twitter, “Some people want the best for other people and some people don’t want to see other people succeed in life unfortunately. Very sad mentality.”
