Bangladesh will face visiting Seychelles at the Sylhet District Stadium today in the first match of their two-match FIFA Tier-1 International Football Series.

The second and last match of the series will be held on March 28 at the same time and same venue.

The match will start at 3:45 PM and Bangladesh Television will telecast both matches live while Bangladesh Betar will broadcast the running commentaries.

The current FIFA ranking of Bangladesh is 192, while Seychelles are ranked 199. The only match between Bangladesh and Seychelles ended in a draw in the four-nation football tournament in Colombo in 2021.

Ahead of the tie, Bangladesh head coach Javier Cabrera said that it would not be easy to beat the African nation.

“Of course, our target is to win both matches. But it will not be an easy challenge,” the Spaniard said in a press conference on Thursday.

Bangladesh have tasted victory only once under Cabrera’s reign. Expectedly, he wants to change that and believes that the training camp they went through in Saudi Arabia will help them.

“This year, we want to be consistent, something which was not there last year. The way we trained in Saudi Arabia, we want to reflect that on the pitch,” he said.

Bangladesh skipper Jamal Bhuyan is looking forward to playing at home after almost an year.

“We need to display our best performance. We need to show the audience that we are a good team. We have been working very hard. We are all ready and positive. We need good results in these two matches ahead of the SAFF

Championship,” he said.
