Bangladesh Cricket Board President Nazmul Hassan refused to speak on the ongoing issues going on at the Bangladesh Football Federation as he said that it was not the time to make any comments.
BFF General Secretary Abu Nayem Shohag was banned for two years by FIFA for breaching multiple articles of the FIFA Code of Ethics, which led to the local organisation issuing an embargo on his reinstatement.
Nazmul, who made some comments regarding the National Women’s Football Team missing out on going to Myanmar for the Paris 2024 Olympics qualifiers, refused to comment on the matter during a press conference on Monday, which he held after distributing food and grocery items to the less fortunate at the National Academy Ground on Monday.
“No comments (on the matter of the banned BFF general secretary). I have no interest in anything beyond cricket.
“I am sure that those in BFF and the Sports Ministry are looking after it. It’s too quick to make a comment. Let’s see what happens first,” he said.
Regarding his previous comments about the Women’s team, Nazmul stated that he had said those from the disappointment of the girls missing out on a tournament.
“My response that day came from the frustration of the girls not being able to go to that tournament. If I want to talk about the current issue now, I need to learn about it. I don’t have that time now,” he said.
