The first day of the first four-day match between Bangladesh A and West Indies A at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium was stopped abruptly by rain on Tuesday as 68 overs could be played.
Before the intervention, West Indies A, batting first after winning the toss, managed 220-2, with Tagenarine Chanderpaul at the crease on 70, while Kirk McKenzie scored 80.
For Bangladesh, the wickets were taken by off-spinner Saif Hasan and pacer Mushfik Hasan.
Batting first, the Caribbeans had a fantastic start as their openers, Chanderpaul and McKenzie, added 130 runs before the latter was dismissed by Saif.
Raymon Reifer managed 26 before he was caught behind off Mushfik’s bowling.
The Bangladesh team is made up of players in and around the national side and is led by Afif Hossain. Saif, Mohammad Naim, Jaker Ali Anik, Rejaur Rahman Raja, Nayeem Hasan, and Rishad Hossain are some mentionable names in the squad.
