West Indies A put 417-6 by the end of the second day in their first four-day match against Bangladesh A at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.

The first day’s play was interrupted by rain after Tagenarine Chanderpaul and Kirk McKenzie gave the Caribbeans a good start after they opted to bat first.

The Windies openers put up 130 runs together before Saif Hasan brought the breakthrough for the hosts as he trapped McKenzie on 86 in the 40th over.

Chanderpaul made 83 off 236 balls while Alick Athanaze scored 85.

At the end of day two, skipper Joshua Da Silva made a 100-run stand with Kevin Sinclair. Silva was unbeaten on 73 while Sinclair was batting on 47.

For Bangladesh, Musfik Hasan took three wickets while Ripon Mondol, Nayeem Hasan, and Saif took one wicket each.

West Indies A will play Bangladesh A in three four-day matches, with all the matches being hosted at the same venue.
