Bangladesh Police FC thrashed Azampur FC Uttara 7-0 in their Bangladesh Premier League match to move into the top three of the points table ahead of Mohammedan Sporting Club at the Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh on Saturday.

Police FC’s forward Johan started the goal fest in the 19th minute as he dribbled past a couple of defenders to sneak the ball into FC Uttara’s net. Robiul Hasan with a fine strike made it 2-0 in the 32nd minute and the action for the first half ended there as relegation dwellers FC Uttara held their defence tight till the half-time whistle.

Police FC’s attacks were sharpened in the second half as they hit another five. Syed Shah Kirmanee scored the third for Police FC just three minutes into the second half. Later, it was all Police FC in Uttara’s half as Mohammad Abdullah and Edward made it 6-0 by the 79th minute. Johan stuck the final nail in the coffin as he scored the seventh to complete his double.

After the win, Police FC are now third on the points table with 23 points after the 16th matchday.

In the other match of the day, Fortis FC Limited defeated Bangladesh Muktijoddha SKC 2-0 at Muktijuddho Sriti Stadium in Rajshahi.

The game was deadlocked as both the teams failed to convert their chances and was heading to a draw, but Fortis FC’s Amiruddin had other plans as he broke the deadlock just six minutes before the final whistle through a stunning right-footed strike to the right top corner from a free kick in front of the d-box and the goalkeeper could do nothing but to watch it go in. Mozammel made it 2-0 in the added time.
