As the one-off Test against Afghanistan comes closer, Bangladesh players spent another day training at the National Academy Ground.
While the training session was for the Test, several white-ball cricketers were present, including Hasan Mahmud, Shamim Hossain, and Rony Talukdar.
Amidst all, though, the surprise was a visit from regular Test skipper Shakib Al Hasan, who will miss the upcoming Test with an injury to his right index finger, which he sustained during Bangladesh’s three-match One-Day International against Ireland last month.
In his absence, Liton Das will lead the side in the solitary Test against the Afghans.
Shakib arrived during training and had a chat with head coach Chandika Hathurusinghe as he looked in a fresh mood, donning a smile and laughing with the Sri Lankan.
Shakib is set to be fit for the white-ball series against Afghanistan, which will be held in July.
The Bangladesh team will officially check in to their hotels for the Test match on Saturday ahead of the Test starting on June 14.
