The ongoing investigation of the Bangladesh national cricket team’s horrid performance in the T20 World Cup in UAE and Oman is almost complete, Bangladesh Cricket Board President Nazmul Hassan told the media on Saturday.
BCB formed a committee on November 8 to review Bangladesh’s World Cup performance, where they lost six out of their eight games, including a defeat to Scotland. The members of the committee were BCB directors Enayet Husain Siraj and Mohammed Jalal Yunus.
Nazmul said that the investigation was almost complete, but they failed to find anything noteworthy, which was not a surprise for him.
“The investigation is almost complete. They will submit it soon. They couldn’t find anything noteworthy. I am not surprised. I knew this would be the case,” he said on Saturday.
Nazmul added that he thought the investigation was inadequate and wanted to do personal interviews of the players.
“But this investigation is not enough. I think I should do interviews too. I interact a lot with the senior players. I want to talk to some seniors and junior players one-to-one. I want to sit with someone like Mahmudullah since he won’t go to New Zealand, shortly after they submit the report,” Nazmul said.
