Chattogram Abahani beat Dhaka Abahani 3-2 in a thrilling encounter on Tuesday in the Bangladesh Premier League 2021-22 at the Sylhet District Stadium.
Daniel Colindres opened the scoring for Dhaka Abahani in the 16th minute when he took forward a lob over the backline and went across the goal with his left foot to beat the keeper.
Dhaka lost the lead just four minutes later as Chattogram striker Ebimobowei headed an incoming cross in the far post.
William Twala scored before half-time and Afghan midfielder Omid Popalzay put the ball in the net in the 64th minute to put his team 3-1 up.
Brazilian midfielder Raphael Augusto scored late in the 89th minute for Dhaka Abahani, but it was not enough as the game ended 3-2 just a minute later.
In the other game, Saif Sporting Club Ltd thrashed Shwadhinata Krira Shangha by 5-1.
Emeka Ogbugh scored a hattrick (35,70 & 79 minutes) and goals from Emery Bayiseng (15) and Asror Gafurov(47) gave Saif a thumping victory.
Nodirbek Mavlonov (49) scored a consolation goal for Shwadhinata.
In the Bangladesh Champions League 2021-22, Nofel Sporting Club played Azampur Football Club Uttara in a goalless draw.
