Anamul Hoque merry run continued on Tuesday as hit yet another ton to help Prime Bank Cricket Club ease past Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League.

Legends of Rupganj won their match by a big margin beating Gazi Group Cricketers by 196 runs, while Prime Bank won by 10 wickets against Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club.

Prime Bank-Rupganj Tigers

Rupganj Tigers set a target of 229-10 after being put into bat at BKSP ground-4. The top-order failed to make use of their starts but the middle order knuckled down as skipper Marshall Ayub and Saad Naseem put together a 110-run stand for the fourth wicket. Ayub scored 58, while top-scored with 85 off 98 deliveries, hitting six fours and two sixes.

Prime Bank fast bowlers Rubel Hossain and Karim Janat picked up four wickets each, while left-arm spinner Rakibul Hasan scalped the wicket of Zakir Hasan, as he overtook Parvez Rasool for the most wickets taken in the league so far. Rakibul now has taken 27 wickets, while Rasool is second placed with 26.

Prime Bank openers Anamul Hoque and Tamim Iqbal produced an emphatic reply as the duo chased down the target in 26.4 overs. Both the openers smashed centuries but it was a special one from Anamul as he crossed the 1000 runs mark in the league.

Anamul scored 112 off 84 deliveries, smashing 11 fours and six maximums, while Tamim remined unbeaten on 109 off 81 balls.

Legends-Gazi Group

At BKSP ground-3, Legends posted 293-9 after opting to bat first. Openers Irfan Shukkur and Raqibul Hasan Nayon gave their team a good start as they put on a 71-run stand, with the latter scoring 47 runs before being dismissed.

Shabbir Rahman came in at three and top-scored with 90 runs of 83 deliveries, while Shakib Al Hasan’s quickfire 59 runs off 26 deliveries helped Legends to put up 293 on the board.

In reply, Gazi batter failed to put up a fight as they folded for 97 runs.

Gazi Group batter Akm Husna Habib Mehedi was the highest scorer with 32 runs.

Legends’ Indian all-rounder, Chirag Jani, scalped a fifer, taking five wickets for 15 runs.

Al Amin Hossain and Naeem Islam picked up two wickets each, while Shakib managed to dismiss Mehedi.
