A maiden international goal from Tariq Kazi saw Bangladesh beat Seychelles 1-0 in their FIFA tier-1 friendly match in Sylhet.
Centre-back Tariq Kazi scored the only goal of the game in the 42nd minute when a Jamal Bhuyan free-kick was deflected towards him and the defender headed it home.
The goal was Bangladesh’s first at home in almost two and a half years as the last goal came against Nepal in November 2020.
It was a historic day for Bangladesh football otherwise as Eleta Kingsley finally made his debut for the Red and Greens, coming on as a second-half substitute.
The striker had a couple of chances to mark his debut with a goal but he blazed over once and the other was saved by the Seychelles goalkeeper.
Bangladesh will take on Seychelles in the second of their two-match series on March 28.
