The first one-day international series between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka is going ahead as planned after an uncertainty over Covid-19 infection of two Sri Lankan players and a coaching staff.

Bangladesh Cricket Board director Jalal Yunus confirmed The Business Post pace bowler Isuru Udana, all-rounder Shiran Fernando and bowling coach Chaminda Vaas tested Covid-19 positive in Dhaka on Saturday.

Udana and Vaas appeared Covid-19 negative after a second test was carried out, enabling the BCB to start the game on time.  Fernando came Covid-19 positive again, said Jalal, adding that he was put into isolation immidiately.

Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal won the toss and elected to bat first after the BCB cleared the match following Covid-19 dilemma.
