The Bangladesh national cricket team reached Lahore on Tuesday to play a two-match Test series against Pakistan.
After their arrival, all of the Bangladeshi players were received with a bouquet of flowers.
The Tigers reached Pakistan four days earlier than the scheduled arrival date as they wanted to train here exclusively due to unrest in the country, reports BSS.
As there was turmoil in the country following the fall of the government, there were security concerns for the cricketers. In the wake of the situation, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) proposed Bangladesh arrive here earlier than the scheduled time.
The BCB responded to the proposal and outlined a practice schedule in Lahore. They will start training here tomorrow. Bangladesh will train here in Lahore till August 16 before they move to Rawalpindi, the venue of the first Test, on August 17.
The opening Test begins on August 21 while the second and final Test is on August 30 in Karachi.
Meanwhile, pacer Shoriful Islam will leave the country tomorrow for Pakistan. Shoriful who will reach Pakistan via Dubai is expected to join the side in Lahore on Thursday. Star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is also expected to join the side on the same day.
