Mushfiqur Rahim and Liton Kumar Das added 129 runs in the sixth wicket partnership to recover Bangladesh from another poor batting show as they were 153-5 at the Tea-break against Sri Lanka on Day one at Dhaka.

This is the best partnership in the history of Test cricket so far after such an early debacle where a team lost half the side in less than 25 runs.

Mushfiq was unbeaten on 62 runs and Liton was unbeaten on 72 runs.

Sri Lankan pacers used the early morning conditions well and picked up the wickets of Bangladesh's top order for just 24 runs within seven overs. Mushfiq and Liton recovered the team from the edge and slowly took control of the game.

Both the batsmen played out the entire second session of the day where Mushfiq and Liton added 87 runs.

Liton reached his half-century in 96 balls. Mushfiq after scoring a hundred in Chattogram was more patient as he scored his first 50 runs from 112 balls.

In the previous Test against Sri Lanka in Chattogram, Mushfiq and Liton put together 164 runs for Bangladesh in the first innings.
