Just a couple of days after losing the three-match T20 International series, Bangladesh are set to take on The United States of America (USA) once again, this time for an official warm-up game of the T20 World Cup.
The venue of the first warm-up game remains the same cursed Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium--where the USA gave them the most shocking experience in their cricket history.
The match starts today at 9.30 pm Bangladesh Time.
While Bangladesh were expected to ease to the series victory, the USA grabbed a five-wicket win in the first match and then snatched a six-run victory in the second game to win the first-ever series against a Test nation.
The USA then took a bold move to rest their four first-choice players including Captain Monank Patel. The move didn't go augurs well for them as Bangladesh came back strongly to crush them by 10 wickets and avoided the whitewash.
USA may well bring back those four players again for the first official warm-up game against Bangladesh in a bid to give them game time again for better World Cup preparation.
Bangladesh, however, wants to leave the memory of the past series behind them when they take on the USA again. A series of defeats to the USA, which sparked strong criticism and angered the fans back at home vehemently, only could be cured if Bangladesh plays well in the T20 World Cup.
The step to bury the nightmare of the USA series will start against this USA indeed.
Bangladesh will take on India on June 1 for their second and final warm-up game of the T20 World Cup.
