Bangladesh have lost three wickets within the first powerplay in their pursuit of 327 in the second One-Day International of their three-match series against England, finding themselves out of favour for the game.
After the first 10 overs, Tigers are on 44-3, with skipper Tamim Iqbal at the crease on 24 off 33 balls, alongside Shakib Al Hasan on 14 off 21 balls. They still need 283 runs off the last 40 overs.
Batting first, England put up 326-7 on board, courtesy of 132 from Jason Roy and 76 from Jos Buttler, alongside 42 from Moeen Ali and an unbeaten 33 from Sam Curran.
Chasing that huge target, Bangladesh were pegged back in the first over as Curran dismissed both Liton Das and Najmul Hossain Shanto. First, Liton tried to play a delivery outside off stump with little foot movement and gave a simple catch to Roy to return for a golden duck.
In the next delivery, Shanto repeated Liton’s score as he poked at a delivery outside off and returned as soon as he came back.
Mushfiqur Rahim did not last long either as he also poked one behind to Buttler off Curran. Although he was given not out at first, England reviewed and the decision was overturned.
From there, Tamim and Shakib added 35 runs in 46 balls to take Bangladesh to 44-3 after the first powerplay.
