Bangladesh win 3 golds in Asia Cup Archery

Bangladeshi archers Ruman Shana and Nasrin Akter beat India to win a gold medal in the Recurve Mixed event of the Asia Cup World Ranking Archery Championship Stage-1 2022 in Phuket, Thailand.

The Ruman-Nasrin duo beat their Indian counterparts Ridhi Phor and Parth Salunkhe in 5-3 set points in the final.

The Gold medalists qualified for the finals after beating hosts Thailand and Kazakhstan in the quarters and in the semi-finals respectively, winning both the games in straight 6-0 set points.

Ruman-Nasrin’s win gave Bangladesh their first medal of this tournament. The second gold came in the L Recurve Women’s team event.

The trio of Nasrin, Diya Siddique and Fahmida Sultana beat India in a tiebreaker in 5-4 set points in the final.

A third gold medal went to Bangladesh as Nasrin won in 6-2 set points at the expense of her compatriot Diya, who had to settle for silver, in the Recurve Women’s single event.

Hakim Ahmed of Bangladesh will fight for the bronze medal against Kazakh Ilfat Abdullulin in the Recurve Men’s Single event.
