Bangladesh national women’s football battered Malaysia 6-0 in their FIFA friendly at the Shaheed Sipahi Mostofa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur, Dhaka on Thursday.
On a day when Bangladesh women’s team dropped down a spot in the FIFA rankings to 146, they showed no mercy to Malaysia.
The Bangladesh booters scored four within the first half and two more in the second to seal a 6-0 victory.
Defender Akhi Khatun scored the opening goal in the ninth minute from a corner, before skipper Sabina Khatun dribbled past the Malaysian goalkeeper to make it 2-0.
Akhi scored again from a well-worked corner in the 30th minute, and Sabina selflessly set up Sirat Jahan in the 45th minute to make it 4-0.
Monika Chakma made it 5-0 in the 68th minute, and Krishna Rani put the final nail in the coffin in the 74th minute to make it 6-0.
