Bangladesh Cricket Board announced a 15-man squad for the upcoming ICC Commonwealth Games Qualifier in Malaysia on Friday.
The tournament is scheduled to start on January 18, ending on January 24.
The XXII Commonwealth Games will be held in Birmingham, England in July-August 2022. Women’s cricket is one of the disciplines at the Games and will be a Twenty20 event.
Women’s Selector Monjurul Islam said, “We have a balanced squad for this competition and players have been picked according to some specific criteria we have set. I think this event is also a good stage to give opportunities to some emerging talent as we need to plan for the future as well.”
Bangladesh will reach Kuala Lumpur on January 9, and after a seven-day quarantine, they will face Malaysia in a warm-up match on January 17.
On January 18, Bangladesh will play their first match against Kenya, before facing hosts Malaysia on the next day.
After facing Scotland on January 23, Tigresses will play their final match against Sri Lanka on January 24.
