The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) will sponsor Bangladesh Wheelchair Cricket Team in the T20I and ODI cricket tournament to be held in India from January 17-21 next year.
BGMEA President Faruque Hassan handed over the sponsorship cheque to the team captain Mohammad Mohasin at a programme at the BGMEA Complex in Dhaka on Sunday, according to a press release.
Bangladesh will play three T20Is and an ODI match against India in the tournament while a 15-member squad will fly to the neighbouring country next month.
Faruque Hassan said the BGMEA has been making every possible effort to promote 'Made in Bangladesh' globally.
The association organised the first-ever 'Made in Bangladesh Week' as part of its endeavour to showcase the country internationally, he said.
"Bangladesh Wheelchair Cricket Team has already made their mark in the international arena and has the potential to bring more glory to Bangladesh. BGMEA is supporting Bangladesh Wheelchair Cricket Team with sponsorship as it will contribute to branding Bangladesh," Faruque added.
Wheelchair Cricket Team captain Mohasin thanked BGMEA for the sponsorship.
