BPL Football: Dhaka Abahani split points with Mohammedan
The six-time champions Dhaka Abahani Ltd split points with their traditional rivals Dhaka Mohammedan SC as the vital Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football match between them ended in a 2-2 draw at the Shaheed Direndranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla on Thursday.

With the day's maiden draw in their fourth league encounters, Dhaka Abahani Ltd went down to the second slot in the 13-team league table with an unbeaten run securing 10 points from four matches while Mohammedan SC were in the sixth slot securing five points from four outings.

Star studded and big budgeted Bashundhara Kings comfortably dominated the league with all-win record collecting full 12 points from straight four matches.

Brazilian forward Francisco Torres put the popular sky-blue Dhanmondi outfit Abahani ahead in the 14th minute (1-0) while Mali striker Souleymane Diabate levelled the margin for traditional black and whites Mohammedan just three minutes later (1-1).

Local booter Jewel Rana again put Abahani ahead in the 33rd minute (2-1).

But Souleymane Diabate again rescued Mohammedan scoring his second goal in the 66th minute at their home venue, Cumilla.

In the day's other match, Sheikh Russel KC maintained their unbeaten run in the league beating Chittagong Abahani Ltd by 1-0 goal at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka on Thursday.

Brazilian booter Giancarlo Lopes Rodrigues scored the match winning goal for Sheikh Russel KC in the 43rd minute (1-0).

With the day's feat, Sheikh Russel KC shared the second slot in the points table with Dhaka Abahani Ltd securing 10 points from four matches while Chittagong Abahani remained at 5th place with six points from four outings.
