Federation Cup runner-up Saif Sporting Club returned to their winning run in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football, beating Muktijoddha Sangsad 2-1 at the floodlit on Thursday evening.
After the day’s match at Bangabandhu National Stadium, Saif Sporting Club advanced to the 5th spot in the 13-team league, collecting seven points from four encounters.
And Muktijoddha SKC remained at 8th place with their previous three points from three matches.
Saif SC, which conceded a 0-1 defeat against Chittagong Abahani in their last match, earned the 2nd victory in the 4th match on Thursday while Muktijoddha SKC suffered their 2nd defeat in their 3rd match after beating Arambagh KS 1-0 in the previous match.
In the day’s match, Uzbek forward Akbarali Kholdorov scored first for Muktijoddha in the 25th minute (1-0). And Nigerian defender Emmanual Ariwachukwu scored an equaliser for Saif SC in the 35th minute (1-1).
Jabed Ahmed scored the match-winner for Saif SC in the 79th minute (2-1).
The 5th round of BPL matches will begin on Sunday after a two-day recess.
