Coming from 0-2 goals behind, three times champions Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club earned a dramatic 3-2 goals victory over Federation Cup runners up Saif Sporting Club in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football on Tuesday.
With the day’s victory in a keenly contested match, Sheikh Jamal SC advanced to the 3rd slot with all-win record toppling six times champions Dhaka Abahani Limited securing full 12 points from straight four matches while Saif SC remained at 5th place with their previous credit of seven points from five league encounters.
Star studded Bashundhara Kings comfortably dominated the league table securing full 15 points, Sheikh Russel KC followed the leader with 13 points while Dhaka Abahani Ltd went down to the 4th slot with 11 points, playing five matches each.
Forward Faisal Ahmed Fahim put Saif SC ahead in the 22nd minute (1-0) while Nigerian forward John Okoli doubled the Saif SC margin in the added time of the first half (2-0).
Gambian striker Solomon King Kanform pulled the Sheikh Jamal margin one back in the 75th minute (2-1) while local forward Nurul Absar leveled the margin scoring the second goal for Sheikh Jamal just two minutes later (2-2).
Solomon Kings, a familiar face in Dhaka Football league, scored the match-winner for Sheikh Jamal from a penalty in the added time of the match with the frustrating of Saif SC.
Sheikh Jamal got spot kick when Saif captain Riadul Hasan committed a handball in the danger zone while trying to foil an attempt of Gambian Omar Jobe and Solomon King did no mistake to convert a penalty (3-2).
