Uttar Baridhara Club and Muktijoddha Sangsad KC will meet each other in the opening round-8 match of Bangladesh Premier League Football (BPL) Football on Friday.
The match will start at 3pm at the Shaheed Ahsanullah Master Stadium in Tongi.
On Saturday, former BPL Football champion Dhaka Abahani Limited will face all-losers Arambagh KS at 3pm at Bir Shreshtha Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj .
Two unbeaten teams— league leader Bashundhara Kings will play former champions Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club at 3:30pm while Saif Sporting Club will face Sheikh Russel KC at 6pm in Saturday’s other two matches, both at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka.
After the 7th round matches, Federation Cup champion and star-studded Bashundhara Kings comfortable dominated the league with all–win run securing full 21 points from straight seven matches.
Three-time BPL Football champion Sheikh Jamal DC followed the leader with unbeaten run securing 16 points from six matches, playing one match less than the Kings while Sheikh Russel KC also bagged 16 points playing seven matches.
Six-time champion Dhaka Abahani Ltd are in the fourth slot with 15 points while Saif SC are in the distant 5th place with 10 points, playing seven and six matches respectively.
Middle-rated Arambagh KC are yet to open the account playing six matches and remained at bottom in the 13-team league while old horse Brothers Union Club remained at 12th slot bagging only one point from six encounters.
