The Bangladesh Sports Press Association (BSPA) celebrated the World Sports Journalists Day with a befitting manner at the association office in Dhaka on Saturday.
Members of the BSPA gathered at the office in the afternoon and a cake cutting ceremony took place there, a press release said.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Football Federation, Bangladesh Olympic Association and other sports organisations sent their greetings to the BSPA on the eve of the World Sports Journalists Day.
BSPA President Sanat Babla said, “The quality of sports journalism in Bangladesh is definitely better than other areas of journalism in the country. The number of investigative reporting in sports journalism is significantly higher than other sectors of journalism in Bangladesh.
“The standard of our sports journalism is also far ahead of the overall standard of our sports,” he said on the occasion.
