Super League of the Dhaka Premier League will start afresh from Sunday as the scheduled matches were washed away on Saturday.
Following requests from Gazi Group Cricketers and Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club, the Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis held an emergency meeting and decided to bring amendments to start the Super League anew from Sunday.
This means that the washed off matches of Saturday will not see points divided among teams. Also, there will be new reserve days but maximum effort would be made to finish the matches on the scheduled day.
“We had an emergency meeting today with all six teams of the Super League. The teams requested and we agreed to include reserve days for the Super League matches. We have a very tight schedule but still agreed on this as the games are being televised live and we would like to see results,” said CCDM Chairman Kazi Inam Ahmed.
The revised fixture will see Prime Doleshwar and Gazi Group face off at the Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the first match on Sunday. The second fixture will see Prime Bank Cricket Club and Lt Sk Jamal Dhanmondi Club face off, whereas the third will be a Dhaka derby between Abahani Limited and Mohammedan SC.
The relegation league has also been rescheduled. It will kick off on Sunday with the match between Legends of Rupgonj and Partex Sporting Club at BKSP.
