Ebadot Hossain broke the 48-run opening stand between Protea skipper Dean Elgar and Sarel Erwee in the morning session of day four of the first Test at Kingsmead in Durban.

Ebadot trapped Erwee in an lbw, with a good length delivery from around the wicket to the left-hander. The ball angled in and sneaked past the defense of Erwee, who was dismissed for eight.

South Africa were 48-1, leading by 117 runs, with Elgar batting at 34*.
