Bangladesh Men’s National Cricket team lost their first one-day international series in home since 2015 as England beat the Tigers by 132 runs in the 2nd ODI at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Friday.
Bangladesh skipper Tamim Iqbal won the toss and opted to field first, but his bowlers failed to restrict the English side as they set a gigantic target of 327 ahead of the Tigers to chase.
English opener Jason Roy scored a brilliant innings of 132 off 124 balls to give his side a proper foundation. Skipper Jos Buttler and all-rounder Sam Curran then propelled the scorecard to put a total of 326 runs in the board losing seven wickets.
Coming to chase, the Bangladeshi batting line collapsed as they lost three wickets on nine. Opener Liton Das and top order batter Najmul Hossain were sent off for none. From there, skipper Tamim built a partnership with Shakib Al Hasan which did no good as they had given too many dot balls. As the pressure raised, Tamim were out trying play big hits, and the rest followed.
Tigers were all-out on 194.
Jason Roy was named the player of the match.
