The Bangladesh Cricket Board and England and Wales Cricket Board have mutually agreed to reschedule England’s planned tour of Bangladesh from September-October 2021 to March 2023.
England were due to play three ODIs and three T20 internationals in Bangladesh this year.
According to the itinerary confirmed by the BCB and ECB, the England team will now tour Bangladesh in the first two weeks of March 2023 and play the best of three ODI and T20 international series’ in Dhaka and Chattogram.
The ECB in a separate statement confirmed the decision.
None of the Board gave any reason for rescheduling the series.
But British newspaper The Telegraph on Monday reported the series could be postponed as the leading English cricketers were willing to take part in the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The 2021 edition IPL was postponed earlier this year in India due to a surge in Covid-19 infection.
The remaining part of the tournament will now be held in United Arab Emirates in September-October.
