Imranur Rahman, the fastest man in Bangladesh, runs today in the Paris Olympic 2024 as he participates in the 100m sprint event.

The event kicks off at 3.15 pm (BST).

The 100m sprint is the most interesting event of the Olympic Games as the whole world looks forward to this event.

Imran’s main target is to pass the initial hit as he said during practice in Paris on Friday, “I want to do my best timing and pray for me that I can give my best.”

Imranur clocked 10.11 seconds in the 100m event at a local competition in England and it is also his career-best but he could not do such timing in the international competition.

The sprinter won a gold in the 60m event at the Asian Indoor Athletics in January 2023 which was a special achievement in the athletics history of Bangladesh.

Imran also represented the country in many big events including World Athletics, and the Asian Games in the last two years.

He said participating in the Olympic games is so thrilling, “Actually, no other sport can be compared with the Olympics”

“I am looking forward to experiencing one of the best moments of my career.” He added.

Meanwhile, another Bangladeshi athlete Sonia Khatun, the only female player among the five athletes left for the Olympics will also compete in the 50m freestyle swimming in the morning today.

Sonia’s best timing in this event was 30.11 seconds but Bangladesh Swimming team coach Abdul Hamid is optimistic about reducing her timing a little more.

Another Bangladeshi swimmer Samiul Islam Rafi also participated in the Paris Olympics on July 30. He clocked 53.10 seconds in the 100m freestyle which was 0.02 seconds less than his own best.

He improved slightly as he spent more than six months of advanced training in Thailand. Generally, he is a backstroke player but can also adapt to freestyle very quickly.

Among the five athletes from Bangladesh, in the Paris Olympics, shooter Rabiul Islam, archer Sagor Islam and swimmer Samiul Islam Rafi finished their games as they all left since the first episode.

Rafi surpassed his best timing while shooter Robiul scored less than his best.

Archer Sagor Islam was playing directly in the Olympics in his own achievement and he was expected to play in the last eight.

He faced the Tokyo Olympics silver medalist in the first round of knockouts and ranked 45th as he lost in three straight sets in the 1/32 stage.
