Former Bangladesh captain Khaled Mahmud has tested positive for Covid-19.
Mahmud, director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), was supposed to perform as the team leader of the Bangladesh team during the three-match one-day international series against Sri Lanka, starting on Sunday.
BCB chief executive officer Nizamuddin Chowdhury confirmed the matter to The Business Post.
Mahmud, also the Chairman of the Game Development Committee of the BCB, has conveyed his thanks to members of the media who have inquired about his health.
He informed that he was currently feeling well.
Mahmud has sought prayers for a swift return to good health and has requested all to respect his privacy as he recovers, the BCB said in a message.
