After beating Denmark by a 2-1 margin in the second semi-final of the Euro 2020, England have reached their first final of the global tournament after 55 years.

The last time they did that, was in the 1966 World Cup where the Three Lions beat West Germany by a 4-2 margin courtesy of a Geoff Hurst hat-trick. That still remains England’s only major international trophy and before this time around, England had never reached the final of an European Championship.

In the 2018 World Cup, England were close to reaching the final but bowed out after Croatia beat them 2-1 in the semi-finals. Later on, England lost the third-place decider against Belgium to finish fourth.

Now, as England battles for the European crown against Italy at Wembley, it’s time to take a look back at how the world was the last time England reached a final.

• Bangladesh was still a part of Pakistan
• There was nothing called one-day cricket
• Cricket World Cups did not exist
• Mankind was yet to land on the moon
• Martin Luther King Jr was still alive
• The Vietnam war was yet to end
• The Berlin Wall still existed
• Croatia did not exist as an independent country
• Leonardo DiCaprio was not born
• The ‘Star Wars’ franchise was yet to be born
• Prince Charles and Diana were yet to be married
• Mobile Phones were yet to be invented
