Nigar Sultana Joty and her teammates are ready to take on England after their historical win against Scotland in the ongoing ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024.

The match kicks off at 8 pm (BST) at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in UAE.

Bangladesh were the host of this edition but the ICC moved the showcase event to UAE due to the country's political turmoil. However, Bangladesh still have the hosting rights.

Bangladesh's batting unit is far behind than a stronger opponent like England. But the skipper Nigar believes his batter will shine in the right time.

Captain herself is a key batter for the Tigresses who scored 253 runs in her last 10 matches while Murshida Khatun scored 215 runs in eight. The eyes will be on them who are top betters for Bangladesh Women.

On the other hand, Bangladesh Women’s bowling looks like a settled unit, but they cannot help the team to win if there are not enough runs on the board, especially against a strong team such as England.

Skipper Joty also said this after winning against Scotland. She mentioned that the kind of bowling attack she had, gave her the belief to win a game even though Bangladesh came to the marquee tournament with no victory in the last four editions.

Rabeya Khan is the key bowler with 14 wickets in the last nine matches, followed by Nahida Akter, who has nine wickets in the last 10.

Meanwhile, England will play their first match in the tournament so they are looking to start their campaign on a winning note. They won 14 of the 16 T20I matches played this year.

Tigresses played three T20Is against England and lost all. England Women ranked second in the ICC T20I rankings, while Bangladesh Women are ranked ninth.

In their last encounter, they beat Bangladesh by seven wickets with 39 balls remaining (D/L Method). In that game, Kirstie Gordan took three wickets for 16 followed by a calculated chase from Amy Jones (28*) and Nat Sciver-Brunt (23).

Danni Wyatt is the key batter for England with 196 runs in the last seven matches with a strike rate of about 150. Alice Capsey, who has 166 runs in the last eight.

Sarah Glenn and Sophie Ecclestone will lead the bowling attack for the English. Sarah took 14 wickets in the last seven matches at an economy of just 4.14 while Sophie took 13 wickets in the last eight.
