Bangladesh Cricket Board have called up two new players for their upcoming three-match one-day international series against Afghanistan later this month.
The two new players are- Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Ebadot Hossain. BCB has also recalled Najmul Hossain Shanto, Yasir Ali Rabbi, and Nasum Ahmed for the series.
Out of the five players brought in, only Najmul has played an ODI beforehand. His last ODI was against West Indies on January 25, 2021.
The BCB selectors have dropped seven players from the Tigers’ last ODI series against Zimbabwe in July. The dropped players are- Mohammad Naim, Mohammad Mithun, Nurul Hasan Sohan, Mosaddek Hossain, Mohammad Saifuddin, Taijul Islam, and Rubel Hossain.
Among the seven, Saifuddin is currently out with a back injury.
The ODI series against Afghanistan will start on February 23 in Chattogram. The remaining matches are on February 25 and 28.
