Kaustav wins Year Long chess tournament

International Master Kaustav Chatterjee of India has become the champion of the Year Long 1st IM Chess Tournament, organised by Bangladesh Chess Federation.

Kaustav earned 8½ points out of 10 games.

Grand Master Alexey Kislinisky of Czech Republic became 2nd with 6½ points and Candidate Master Tahsin Tajwar Zia became 3rd with 6 points.

Other places are: 4th-FM Mehdi Hgasan Parag, Points 5½, 5th-Sourath Biswas of India, points-5, 6th-FM Debaraj Chatterjee, points-4½, 7th- IM Asyl Abdyjapar of Kyrgyzstan, points-4½, 8th-FM Md Taibur Rahman, points-4, 9th-FM Sheikh Nasir Ahmed, points-4, 10th- CM Manon Reja Neer, points-3½ and 11th- IM Mahmood Lodhi of Pakistan.

In the final round: IM Kaustav beat FM Nasir, FM Parag drew with IM Lodhi, GM Kislinisky drew with IM Abdyjapar, FM Debaraj drew with Sourath and CM Neer got a walk-over against FM Taibur.

A total of 11 players from Bangladesh, Chez Republic, Kyrgyzstan, India and Pakistan including one grandmaster, 3 international Masters and 4 FIDE Masters participated in the event.
