Treble winner, Bashundhara Kings take on Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society in a formalities match of BPL at the Birsreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj today.

While Bangladesh Police Football Club meet Fortis Football Club at Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh. Both the matches kick off at 4 pm.

Star-studded Bashundhara Kings clinched the title of Federation Cup when they came from behind to beat Mohammedan Sporting Club by 2-1 goals in the nail-biting final held on Wednesday.

The exciting final match rolled into an extra time after the stipulated time ended 1-1 draw. Forward Zahid Hossain scored the winner for the Kings in extra time to seal the third trophy of the season for his side.

Since the introduction of top-flight football in 2018, the Kings could not win a treble in one season, the remarkable triumph in the Federation Cup final over Mohammedan fulfilled the dream of winning the treble. Earlier, Sheikh Russel KC was the first team to complete a domestic treble back in the 2012-13 season.

After the Independence Cup and Bangladesh Premier League, the Kings won the Federation Cup 2023-24 season.

They dominated the league table with 41 points from 16 matches while the traditional old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society stand in ninth position in the league table with 12 points playing the same number of matches.

On the other hand, Bangladesh Police Football Club, standing in fourth position in the league table, have 23 points from 16 matches while Fortis Football Club who stands in sixth position in the league table, collected 18 points playing the same number of outings.

Earlier, in the first leg matches, Bashundhara Kings beat Rahmatganj by 4-1 goals held at Bashundhara Kings arena while Fortis Football Club defeated Bangladesh Police Football Club by 2-1 goals held at Rajshahi district Stadium in Rajshahi.
