Bangladesh breezed past Zimbabwe in their first one-day international as the Tigers beat the hosts by 155 runs, courtesy of Liton Das' century and Shakib Al Hasan's five-wicket haul.
Liton scored 102 off 114 deliveries to notch up his fourth ODI ton and third against Zimbabwe as Bangladesh put on 276 for nine after being put in to bat.
Chasing 277, Zimbabwe were never in the game as they lost wickets on a regular basis, and Shakib's third five-wicket haul ensured that the Tigers got a massive win to kick off their ODI series.
Shakib's five wickets also made him the highest wicket-taker in ODIs as the ace all-rounder has 274 scalps, with Mashrafe Bin Mortaza sitting second with 269.
Liton was the player of the match for his vital century on a difficult surface.
Batting first, Bangladesh lost early wickets as skipper Tamim Iqbal went for a duck, and none of Shakib, Mohammad Mithun and Mosaddek Hossain could hang around.
But Liton kept going at the other end. He picked up his fourth ODI ton hitting eight boundaries and rebuilt the innings with a 97-run stand with Mahmudullah.
After Liton's dismissal, youngster Afif Hossain notched up a quickfire 45 off 35 deliveries to hand the Tigers a defendable total of 276.
In reply, Zimbabwe lost their openers to Mohammad Saifuddin and Taskin Ahmed within the fifth over. Zimbabwe skipper Brendan Taylor tried to counterpunch but was eventually caught off Shakib, trying to slog-sweep the left-arm spinner.
The only notable Zimbabwean resistance came from their wicket-keeper batsman Regis Chakabva who picked up his second ODI fifty but was dismissed for 54 as Shakib picked up his fourth.
Shakib dismissed Richard Ngarava to remove the hosts' tail to ensure Bangladesh's 155-run win.
Zimbabwe's Timycen Maruma could not bat as he hurt his hamstring while fielding.
This victory was Bangladesh's 17th straight win against Zimbabwe, and also the Tigers' sixth win in the ODI Super League.
