Bangladesh's national team beat Nepal 3-1 in the final of the SAFF Women's Championship 2022 at the Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu, Nepal on Monday.

A brace from striker Srimoti Krishnarani Sarker, and a first-half-goal from substitute Shamsunnahar Jr gave Bangladesh their first-ever championship.

Nepal forward Anita Basnet got one back in the 70th minute but a resolute Bangladesh defence remained compact enough to maintain their lead.

Meanwhile, President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina congratulated all players, coaches and the manager of the Bangladesh women's team for becoming the SAFF champion.
