Star-studded Bashundhara Kings face defending champions Mohammedan Sporting Club in the battle of the final of ABG Bashundhara Federation Cup Football at Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh today.
The match kicks off at 3 pm.
Earlier, Mohammedan Sporting Club stormed into the final of the tournament beating Bangladesh Police Football Club by 2-1 goals in the first semifinal while Bashundhara Kings confirmed their spot of the final defeating Abahani Limited, Dhaka by 3-0 goals in the second semifinal, reports BSS.
Bashundhara Kings, who set a new milestone in the country's domestic football by winning the record fifth consecutive Bangladesh Premier League title recently, won the Federation Cup crown twice in the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons, are now eyeing to win another trophy of the Federation Cup.
Kings also won the season’s curtain raiser Independence Cup 2023-24.
On the other hand, Mohammedan Sporting Club also looking forward to retaining the title.
In the last season, Mohammedan defeated their arch-rivals Abahani Limited by 4-2 goals in a keenly contested tie-breaker after the stipulated and extra time ended in 4-4. It was Mohammedan’s eleventh title in the tournament since 1980.
