Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim missed out the first T20I against Afghanistan on Thursday and also doubtful for the second and final T20I due to a contusion in right thumb.

Nurul Hasan Sohan has been called in as his replacement.

Mushfiq was rested from playing T20I for Bangladesh during the three-match series against Pakistan.

Physiotherapist of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, Bayezidul Islam told the reporters that Mushfiq has been kept under observation after getting hit by the ball in his right thumb on Wednesday and the X-ray showed nothing bad.

"He is under observation now and has been kept out of the team for the first T20. The final decision about him will be taken on Friday," the physiotherapist said in a video message.

Mushfiq's absence earned Nurul Hasan a call even after his dismal performance in the recently concluded Bangladesh Premier League for Fortune Barishal.

Bangladesh also handed a T20 cap to Munim Shahriar and Yasir Ali Chowdhury, who have become 74th and 75th T20I players for the country respectively.

Munim has got his maiden call in any sort of international cricket while Yasir played three Test matches and as many as One-Day Internationals so far.
