Veteran Bangladesh batsman Mushfiqur Rahim has been rested from the Twenty20 internationals in their upcoming tour of Zimbabwe.
Bangladesh Cricket Board announced the squads for the tour on Wednesday.
Under-19 World Cup winner Shamim Hossain has been called up for T20Is for the first time whereas Nurul Hasan Sohan has returned to the squad of all three formats.
Leg-spinner Aminul Islam Biplob has also been called up for the T20I series.
Shakib Al Hasan has also returned to the Test squad after he had opted out of playing in two-match Test series against Sri Lanka back in April.
Mushfiq had requested the BCB to grant him leave for the T20Is against Zimbabwe and that has been approved by the board.
Shamim and Sohan’s selection comes after their impressive performances in the Dhaka Premier League.
Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club skipper Nurul has scored 346 runs in 13 innings, averaging 38.44 at a strike rate of 151.75. Shamim, on the other hand, has scored 181 runs in 10 innings with a strike rate of 149.38.
Bangladesh are scheduled to leave the country for Zimbabwe on June 29, with the only Test commencing on July 7. The three-match one-day internationals series will start on 16 July with the T20Is series kicking off on July 23.
