Bangladesh wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim will leave Zimbabwe for Dhaka due to family reasons which will exclude him from the remainder of the tour said a media release from Bangladesh Cricket Board.

Mushfiq was having a hairline fracture for which he did not field during the Harare Test and did not have to bat in the second innings as Mominul Haque declared before his turn to bat came.

Before going to Zimbabwe, Mushfiq requested the selectors for discarding him from the Twenty20 series against Zimbabwe but later changed his mind as the cricketers returning from Harare will straight go into a bio-secure bubble meant for the upcoming Australia tour where the Tigers will play five T20 matches.

But everything changed suddenly as Mushfiq is returning home.

Bangladesh batsman Mushfiqur Rahim will miss the remainder of the tour in Zimbabwe for family reasons.

"Mushfiqur will leave Harare later today and travel to Dhaka. He will miss Bangladesh's three ODIs against Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club on 16, 18, and 20 July and also the three-match T20 international series that starts at the same venue on 23 July.

"The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) requests that all respect the privacy of Mushfiqur and his family at this time read the statement from the BCB," their statement read.

Mushfiq might also miss the five-match T20 series against Australia.
