Former national captain and dependable wicket-keeper cum batsman Mushfiqur Rahim emerged as the 2nd Bangladeshi batsman to score 1000 plus runs in the ICC World Cup Cricket on Thursday.

Mushfiqur, who came to bat at number six against the hosts India in Pune on Thursday with 996 runs in 32 matches, joined the dream 1000-run club in the World Cup scoring two runs off a RA Jedeja delivery in the 29.4 overs of the match.

Finally, Mushfiqur scored 38 runs off 46 balls featuring one four and a six in the day's match against the title aspirant India and raised his individual tally to 1034 runs in 33 World Cup matches.

Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan, who was dropped in the day's vital match against India due to injury, topped the scorer list among the Bangladeshi cricketers in the ICC World Cup scoring 1201 runs in 32 matches.

Another former national skipper Tamim Iqbal, who missed the ICC World Cup team this time, followed the leaders scoring 718 runs in 29 matches.
