Mohammad Naim and Mahmudullah both scored decent thirties, while Liton Das made his first double-digit score in twenty20 internationals since March 2020 that gave Bangladesh a decent total in the second match of the five-match T20 series against New Zealand on Friday.

Mahmudullah won the toss and elected to bat first at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, and the openers responded to the captain's call by setting up a 59 run opening stand to give the team a decent start.

But the Tigers lost two quick wickets as Liton dragged a ball from way outside off-side and dismantled his stumps after scoring 33 runs which is his first double-figure score in T20 since March 2020 where he scored 60 runs against Zimbabwe.

Since then, Liton was getting out very cheaply in T20, his last four innings are 4,6,0, and 1, and today he was facing another duck but Colin De Grandhome dropped him on the square leg for 0.

Mushfiq was the next to go who was the victim of a fine piece of wicket-keeping by Tom Latham, who quickly dislodged the bells while Mushfiq took a long stride to play Rachin Ravindra's flighted delivery.

Shakib Al Hasan came in with a counterpunching mentality after two wickets in a row, scored 12 runs quickly with two boundaries, and gave a simple catch to debutant Ben Sears who juggled but finally could hold the ball.

Mahmudullah played a crucial knock of 37 runs from 32 balls, got some support from Nurul Hasan Sohan who scored 13 runs.

After 20 overs, Bangladesh managed to score 141 runs for the loss of six wickets.

Ravindra was the most successful bowler for New Zealand who took three wickets for 22 runs.
