Bangladesh were at 116-1 at lunch on the first day of their one-off Test match against Afghanistan, courtesy of a brisk fifty from Najmul Hossain Shanto.
Najmul is on 64 off 76 balls at lunch, hitting 11 fours. He is partnered by Mahmudul Hasan Joy, who is on 38 off 70 balls.
Earlier, Bangladesh were put into bat after Liton Das lost the toss on his captaincy debut.
Without Tamim Iqbal, Zakir Hasan and Mahmudul came down to open the innings. However, things did not go to plan as Zakir (1) was caught behind in the first delivery of the second over by debutant Nijat Masood.
From there, though, it was all Bangladesh as Najmul and Mahmudul ensured that Bangladesh had no trouble reaching lunch without further loss of wickets as they added 110 runs for the second wicket.
