Pakistan Cricket Board is set to generate 200 crores Pakistani Rupees from their home series against Australia claimed PCB chairman Ramiz Raza.

Raza claimed that the Australia series at home will give the PCB a major financial boost, breaking previous revenue records. He insisted that Pakistan’s performance in the ICC T20 World Cup changed the outlook and perception of Pakistan cricket and brought commercial success.

“The win against India in the T20 World Cup was a turning point. It took our cricket to new levels and we reaped the rewards in the Pakistan Super League as well,” he said on winning against India in the T20 World Cup.

“Fans follow us closely and from a financial point of view, we have broken previous records. I believe that we are going to earn 200 crores Pakistani Rupees from this series. This is huge!” he added.

Pakistan lost the Test series and a single Twenty-over international match but clinched the One-day international series 2-1 against the Aussies.

Australia’s tour of Pakistan was in doubt after England and New Zealand walked away from their scheduled series successively in 2021. But the Aussies finally decided to tour Pakistan after a gap that spanned almost 24 years.

Raza assured that their commercial success will be put to good use and that Pakistan cricket still had considerable room for improvement in terms of infrastructure.

“Financially, we are on the right track but we still lack proper infrastructure. We will focus on coaching youngsters, giving them proper facilities to practice and at the same time focus on their education,” he said.
